Four Points Federal Credit Union annually awards two $1,000 college scholarships to graduating FPFCU high school seniors or students currently attending an accredited technical school or two-year or four-year college.
Application Requirements
To become eligible for one of the two available $1,000 scholarship awards, an applicant must:
- Be a primary Four Points FCU account holder, in good standing
- Carry a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Submit the following documents, along with a completed application form
- A copy of their latest academic transcripts, official or unofficial
- A letter of recommendation from a non-family member
- A completed 500-word essay over the topic listed on the application form
Please note that parental membership does not automatically qualify a child for scholarship eligibility, as each applicant must be listed as the primary account holder. Joint accounts are acceptable, if the applicant is listed as the primary.
Disclosures
All winners of the Scholarship Program agree that upon acceptance of an award, full permission is granted for the credit union to use the individual winner's name and likeness for purposes of advertising, promotion, and publicity without additional compensation. Furthermore, the individual recipient understands that when instructed, a digital photo of the applicant must be submitted before any award funds are dispersed to the applicant's eligible Four Points FCU savings or checking account.
A winning applicant has ten (10) days to respond to the first official correspondence after being selected; communication will be sent via telephone and e-mail to the numbers or addresses listed on a winner's application. Failure to return correspondence during the timeframe will result in immediate forfeiture of award funds, whereupon the award will then be given to the next chosen applicant. Winning applicants not in good standing with the credit union, or who close all credit union accounts prior to accepting an award, will also forfeit their Scholarship Award to the next chosen applicant.
All applicable taxes are the responsibility of award recipients. All entries shall become the property of Four Points Federal Credit Union and cannot be returned. Four Points Federal Credit Union will not be responsible for entries that are lost, damaged, illegible, incomplete, misdirected, or arrive with postage due.
